    This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to drive subcontracting strategy and execution across major international projects, while managing and developing a high-performing team within a dynamic engineering environment.

    The Role

    As Subcontracts Lead, you will take ownership of the subcontracting function across both proposal and execution phases. You will define strategy, lead commercial decisions on critical packages, and act as the central point for all subcontract-related matters. In addition to hands-on involvement, you will provide leadership, governance, and direction to the subcontracting team, ensuring alignment with project and corporate objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and manage subcontracting activities across proposals and project execution
    • Develop and implement subcontracting strategies to enhance competitiveness, efficiency, and risk mitigation
    • Provide leadership and performance management to Subcontracts Specialists, fostering team development
    • Oversee subcontracting input into proposals, including scope definition, packaging strategy, and market engagement
    • Approve bidder lists and ensure subcontractor prequalification and capability
    • Oversee RFQ processes and ensure robust, compliant tendering
    • Lead commercial evaluations and negotiations for high-value and critical subcontract packages
    • Ensure full flow-down of Prime Contract obligations (commercial, technical, QHSE, ESG)
    • Oversee subcontract administration, including performance, cost, schedule, and quality alignment
    • Lead management of variations, claims, and dispute resolution to protect commercial position
    • Act as the focal point for subcontracting matters across Project Management, Engineering, Legal, and other stakeholders
    • Promote governance, compliance, and adherence to policies and delegated authority frameworks
    • Support cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting in collaboration with Project Controls
    • Drive implementation and adoption of procurement tools and reporting systems
    • Deliver training and guidance on subcontracting processes and governance
    • Ensure proper and timely subcontract close-out, including final accounts and documentation

    Your Profile

    • 10+ years of subcontracting experience within EPC projects
    • Proven background in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or similar sectors
    • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams
    • Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, Business, Supply Chain, or similar
    • Strong commercial and contractual expertise (FIDIC/EPC experience preferred)
    • Proven ability to lead complex negotiations and manage high-value contracts
    • Strong risk management, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills
    • Structured, strategic thinker with the ability to operate across multiple priorities
    • Business level English – EU work eligibility preferred – non EU will be considered
