A challenging opportunity for a Senior Piping Engineer to join a leading engineering environment, taking ownership of piping layout and design across complex FEED and EPC projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads a team of Discipline Designers and Engineers, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project execution while adhering to standards.
- Offers technical expertise in Piping Layout and Design, guiding colleagues in adopting new technologies.
- Establishes procedures for controlling Discipline activities and define task lists and schedules in line with Contract terms.
- Develops comprehensive design concepts, incorporating necessary data and design principles.
- Estimates quantities and oversee critical interface information.
- Monitors progress of Piping and Layout development, including sub-contracted tasks ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to man-hours and document delivery.
- Supports Procurement, Subcontracting, and Construction within scope, providing technical assistance and reporting to Project staff and Clients.
- Manages 3D model reviews and coordinate design change evaluations and implementations.
- Collaborates with piping design teams, attends cross-disciplinary technical meetings, and seeks solutions.
- Upholds Project Schedule, Quality, and Cost objectives while offering technical assistance.
- Contributes to Company Standard Practices, facilitates training of Junior Designers, and ensures design document accuracy.
Abilities
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, strong English writing skills for documentation and reports, proficient in English speaking for effective communication with teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate the capacity to function both independently and collaboratively within a team, showcasing meticulous attention to detail while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Display proficiency in applying a range of international codes and standards pertinent to Piping Engineering, including American (API, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, ISA, NFPA), Russian (GOST), and European (EC, EN, EU) regulations.
- Exhibit a strong working familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and prevalent Engineering Software employed in the field, such as AVEVA E3D, CAESAR II, START-PROF, among others.
- Possess effective interpersonal and leadership aptitude to proficiently manage stakeholders, providing updates on piping engineering progress and adeptly addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Evidence a commitment to professionalism and substantial technical proficiency.
- Introduce innovative ideas aimed at enhancing work execution methodologies.
Qualifications
- At least Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or a comparable engineering specialization
- A minimum of 15 years of applicable work experience within the Oil and Gas industry of which 5 should be at lead or senior level
- Proven leadership and coordination skills
- Fluent in English for effective communication with stakeholders and project partners
- The legal requirements to work and reside in the EU and Netherlands is desirable although candidates from outside EU will be considered and supported.
