Senior Backend/Fullstack Developers

This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an exciting new development team with our market leading client. As a key team member, you will play a lead role within a unique professional culture where the championing of software engineering and ownership is paramount.

About this role
• You will receive end-to-end ownership in the engineering of systems that would allow the company to scale by 10 customers.
• You’ll take an active part in the research and development of new and exploratory products that would impact the workflow of users across the world.
• You’ll be part of the Core engineering group of the company, an R&D department that is based at the company’s overseas HQ, where your manager will be an engineering director who was part of the founding team of the company.
• You’ll learn about the industry sector, systems, and its unique challenges.
• You’ll broaden your technical knowledge of distributed, data-driven architecture with an emphasis on AWS cloud resources and services.
• You’ll have a strategic role that drives scalability, by enabling us to continuously increase the accuracy of our algorithms, across thousands of sites.

We are looking for
• Senior-level experience in Software Development
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in building complex systems
• Deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals – object-oriented design, code optimization, and complexity
• Passion for elegant and effective technological solutions, and a love for clean code
• Hands-on experience in building production services end-to-end – including architecture design, research, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Strong ability to lead end-to-end development processes
• A “can-do” attitude and a strong sense of ownership
• BSc/MSc in Computer Sciences, or equivalent (advantage)
• Experience in building large-scale data pipelines and systems (advantage)
• Experience with some or all of following technologies (advantage):
o Python (the main development language) and/or Java, Node, .Net or modern backend languages
o Cloud computing – AWS stack and APIs, or equivalent
o Databases – PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redshift, or equivalent
o Serverless – Lambda functions, step functions, and the full serverless ecosystem to speed up the development process
o Containers and Orchestration – Docker, Terraform
o CI/CD pipelines and practiced Agile experience
o Frontend applications development experience (relevant only for the full stack position)
