Senior Accountant / Accounts Payable

For our client, a fast-emerging player in the global oil & gas/petrochemical sectors with a unique service offering, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Accountant / Accounts Payable for a challenging role in their fast-growing business.

Your new challenge

The role of Senior Accountant / Accounts Payable involves providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. Your role is to complete payments and control expenses by receiving payments, plus processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. Day-to-day activities also include the management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner.

Your new challenge will include:

• Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
• Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Paying employees by verifying expense reports and preparing paychecks.
• Paying vendors by scheduling paychecks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit.
• Responding to vendor inquiries regarding finance.
• Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports.
• Maintaining historical records and continuing to improve the payment process.

What we would like from you

A degree in Finance, Economics, Business Studies, or Accounting, coupled with strong attention to detail and proficient data entry skills. Moreover, you should ideally have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a similar role, with industry-specific experience considered advantageous. Proficiency in Excel is essential, and an excellent command of the software is expected.

Technical Abilities:

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written, for effective communication with teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent knowledge of Excel.
• Understanding of basic accounting systems.
• Experience with Project Accounting preferred.
